April 2011 Legend Betty Hendrix, one of our all-time favorite award winners, began volunteering with the Red Cross during World War II. At the time of her Legend ceremony, she had booked 67 years of volunteer service – and she didn’t stop there. This year, Betty was honored at the American Red Cross of Central Texas Volunteer Recognition dinner for 70 (yes, S-E-V-E-N-T-Y!) years of volunteerism. We salute Betty as one of the great volunteers in our community – we are, truly, amazed.
