In 1998, Alan Graham founded Mobile Loaves & Fishes (MLF), a volunteer, faith-based, Christian outreach ministry providing food, clothing, and dignity to the homeless via an armada of catering trucks that hit the streets 365 days a year to feed the homeless wherever they may be. The organization has now grown to include a fleet of 19 trucks in six cities throughout the country. Over the years, MLF has served more than 2,260,000 meals (as of 10/12/2010) through the hard work of approximately 14,000 volunteers (representing 75 organizations including 35 churches, Boy Scout troops, corporate teams, and schools).Mobile Loaves & Fishes also expanded to create the Community First! (CF!) program. It empowers individuals to change the world by providing housing to chronically homeless individuals. MLF currently houses the CF! residents in well-maintained RV parks around Austin, Texas. The program is meant to be a nationwide example of how to solve the issue of homelessness.
