RecognizeGood.org honored Gullett Elementary Librarian Kay Gooch as the first recipient of the Legends of RecognizeGood program, on April 20, 2010. The school is inspiring students to read, Gullet Elementary Librarian Kay Gooch was presented with this special honor as the first Legends of RecognizeGood recipient.

Kay Gooch led her students at Gullett Elementary School to win the BookSpring Read-a-Thon contest 5 years in a row, raising over $22,000 in 2010, and over $100K for the program to date. Through the Read-a-Thon and her example, Kay instills not only a love of reading in her students, but also a love of service. She enables the students to graspe the power of books and knowledge, and also how their own hard work can provide those same gifts to those who are less fortunate.
