RecognizeGood presents Lighthouse Award to Round Rock Kiwanis

The Round Rock Kiwanis Club was presented with the RecognizeGood Lighthouse Award on August 19th during their regularly-scheduled meeting at Logan’s Roadhouse in La Frontera. This incredible service club was founded on October 16, 1952, and since then has supported over 60 different area nonprofits and causes, including RecognizeGood friends like Sacred Heart Community Clinic, Just Because Christmas, Round Rock ISD Partners in Education Foundation, and Girl Scouts of Central Texas. Round Rock Kiwanis’ most impactful events are the Kiwanis Pancake Day and the Heritage Flag Project. Some of their volunteer efforts include distributing school supplies, helping the County Health Department with reading projects, cleaning up low income housing areas and creating a garden and playground for an elementary school. Round Rock Kiwanis also sponsor 3 Key Clubs, at McNeil High, Stony Point High and Pflugerville High. Each year this club donates over 4,000 hours of service and raises more than $20,000, keeping with the Kiwanis International goal of changing the world one child and one community at a time.

Matt Ache, president of iRex Group, Ltd. presented chapter president Jennifer Aaron with an award plaque, along with a donation to PET-Austin in the club’s name. RecognizeGood has also dedicated a PET (Personal Energy Transportation) vehicle in the club’s name. This recognition was well-deserved, representing a giant THANK YOU from the entire Austin community for Round Rock Kiwanis’ decades of selfless support.
